The Institute for Historic Journalism, Communication and Media Studies (IPKM) represents the communication and media studies at the University of Bremen. In addition to its preoccupation with questions concerning contemporary media communication and media culture the institute focuses on media and press history.
The IPKM supervises the BA Communication and Media Studies and the MA Media Culture. The IPKM is involved in two research institutes, the Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research (ZeMKI) as well as the Institute for German Press Research.
